Ndeh Nation: Building a better future for San Carlos Youth
Our mission is to inspire the youth of San Carlos with pride in their ancestral language. We would like the Apache Language Curriculum to motivate the students in San Carlos to use Apache to communicate in their daily lives, so that our language remains a living language that is part of a thriving culture and a resilient community.
The Apache Language Curriculum, designed by the One People ~ One Nation Project, was developed within the community of San Carlos, Arizona. It is a challenging and dynamic curriculum designed to:
The Apache Language Curriculum is being developed to provide Apache Language instruction in Immersion, Non-Immersion, and Community organized classes for San Carlos youths in Grade Pre-Kinder through Grade 12. Additional Apache Cultural Enrichment Opportunities have been embedded into the Apache Language Curriculum with the assistance of community programs and partnerships outside of the regular school day.
Our expectation is that by implementing the Apache Language Curriculum, the students of San Carlos will learn to communicate in Apache so they may carry on the Apache language, traditions, and culture to prevent them from becoming lost. The students within the community will be able to speak, understand, and identify with both the Apache Language and Culture.
Build Apache Identity, Academic Preparation, and Resiliency for our youth!
